Rep. Deutch Announces District Data on Expanded Child Tax Credits in American Rescue Plan
129,300 Children in FL-22 Will Benefit from Expanded and Improved CTC in American Rescue Plan
Today, U.S. Representative Ted Deutch (FL-22) released new data collected by Co-Equal detailing the benefits of the expanded and improved Child Tax Credit (CTC) in Florida's 22nd Congressional District.
The data reveals that 129,300 children will receive the monthly CTC payment. This benefit, included for one year in the American Rescue Plan, will be transformative for middle class families and lift more than 11,700 children out of poverty. This striking data demonstrates the importance of permanently expanding and improving the CTC.
"This plan is a major step toward helping families recover and rebuild from the pandemic and tackle child poverty in our communities,” said Rep. Deutch. “These payments will help thousands of families across the district cover essential daily expenses like food, childcare, diapers, healthcare, and clothing. As we move forward, we can’t let these important investments in our children expire. Making permanent changes to lift generations of children out of poverty and support families long after the pandemic will reduce inequality and give millions of families new opportunities."
