Rep. Deutch Introduces Combating Anti-Semitism Act
Today, Congressman Deutch (FL-22) introduced the Combating Anti-Semitism Act of 2017.
This bipartisan bill would increase protection of community centers with religious affiliation from threats including bomb threats. Deutch is a co-chair and founding member of the Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Anti-Semitism.
Following bomb threats made against Jewish Community Centers nationwide and in South Florida, Deutch said:
“If 100 branches of any institution in this country – any religious site, any business, or God forbid any school – were targeted by bomb threats in such a short period, there should be public outcry and it should rise to the highest levels of concern. When Jewish institutions are targeted, we must take action.”
