Legislative Updates: 115th Congress
Rep. Deutch Co-Introduces Social Security 2100 Act
Today, Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-22) co-introduced the Social Security 2100 Act, legislation to ensure Social Security solvency through the end of the century.
Specifically, the bill would improve benefits through an across-the-board benefit increase, implement a more accurate cost of living formula, create a new special minimum benefit, and cut taxes for over 10 million beneficiaries. The bill funds these changes by eliminating the cap on Social Security tax for those earning greater than $400,000 per year.
