Deutch Welcomes New Iran Sanctions in Response to Recent Missile Test
Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-22), Ranking Member of the Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee, issued the following statement on the Treasury Department's announcement of new sanctions against Iranian individuals and entities following Iran's ballistic missile test:
"I welcome today’s announcement from the Treasury Department that sanctions will be imposed on 13 individuals and 12 companies following Iran’s latest ballistic missile launch on January 29. Acting Treasury Secretary Adam Szubin has been instrumental in ensuring Iran is held accountable for its continued and repeated violations of international law and I am pleased to see his good work carrying over in the new Administration. Even as we continue to vigorously enforce the nuclear agreement, we must make clear that Iran’s pursuit of dangerous missile and terrorist activities will not be tolerated. I hope the United Nations will follow today’s sanctions with swift international action."
