Congressman Deutch cosponsors bill to Limit Money in Politics

Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-21) joined Congressman John P. Sarbanes (MD-03) and 149 other Members of Congress in sponsoring the Government By the People Act. The legislation will stem the unlimited flow of money from special interest and anonymous super-PAC donations to campaigns at a time when many Americans feel frustrated by the current influence that spending has on our democratic process.

By creating new mechanisms to increase the influence of grassroots donors, this bill seeks to bolster the voice of everyday Americans. The bill creates a matching donation fund and offers tax credits for small, individual campaign donations.
