Legislative Updates: 114th Congress
Rep Deutch cosponsors Veterans Day Moment of Silence Act
Congressman Ted Deutch has signed on as a cosponsor of H.R. 995, the Veterans Day Moment of Silence Act. The legislation directs the President to issue an annual proclamation calling on all Americans to observe two minutes of silence on Veterans Day. This moment of silence would honor the service and sacrifice of veterans throughout the history of our Nation.
The bill was introduced to the U.S. House of Representatives by Congressman Stephen Lynch (MA-8). It was later incorporated into H.R. 675, the Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2015, which passed the House favorably by a unanimous vote.
