Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-21) will formally announce the award of a major federal grant to fight childhood obesity in Palm Beach County through an innovative new program run by Caridad Center, the largest free health care and dental clinic in the state of Florida. Caridad, which was named non-profit of the year by the South Florida Business Journal in 2013, will use the federal dollars to bring the “SPARK” curriculum (Sports, Pay, and Active Recreation for Kids) to 11 middle schools throughout Palm Beach County.
