Tomorrow, Thursday, August 22, 2013, U.S. Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-21) and State Senator Joseph Abruzzo (FL-25) will hold a press conference on the need for federal legislation to ban the slaughter of horses for consumption and export to other countries. Both Congressman Deutch and Senator Abruzzo represent the village of Wellington, which is home to an internationally-renowned equestrian community. Joining the lawmakers will be Victoria McCullough, a nationally recognized advocate for the protection of horses, as well as several horses rescued from slaughter.
