As a co-Chair of the Congressional Songwriters Caucus and a member of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Intellectual Property, Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-21) signed on as an original cosponsor of H.R. 2731, the Songwriters Tax Simplification Reauthorization Act.

The bipartisan Songwriters Tax Simplification Reauthorization Act would restore tax breaks for songwriters and music publishers. With the music industry struggling from drops in sales and online piracy, this tax break would help support and encourage crucial transactions of music catalogues and copyrights for songwriters and music publishers.
