Rep. Deutch Cosponsors H.R. 864, Designating an “American World War II City” Every Year
Congressman Deutch (FL-21) has cosponsored H.R. 864, a bill to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to designate at least one city in the United States each year as an “American World War II City."
During World War II, cities gave exceptional assistance to the US Armed Forces to help the war effort. This bill would designate one US city each year as an “American World War II City,” recognizing the city’s contributions during the war, efforts to preserve its history of such contributions, restoration of time period facilities, and acknowledgment of residents that are World War II veterans. It is always important for the United States to recognize the veterans who bravely fought for our nation. To read more about H.R. 864, click here. |
