Legislative Updates: 113th Congress
Rep. Deutch Cosponsors the Nuclear Iran Prevention Act of 2013
Congressman Deutch (FL-21) has signed on as an original cosponsor of H.R. 850, the Nuclear Iran Prevention Act of 2013.
One of the greatest threats to international peace and security is Iran’s development of nuclear weapons. Iran is a dangerous regime that actively threatens both its neighbors and the United States with nuclear war. Iran’s inflammatory rhetoric and efforts to obtain nuclear weapons represent a direct threat to our allies in the region as well as our own national security. These developments are troubling and require swift and immediate action. The Nuclear Iran Prevention Act of 2013 will broaden economic sanctions aimed at preventing the Iranian regime from achieving nuclear capacity. This bill will target human rights violators and will increase the implementation and enforcement of current sanctions. To read more about H.R. 850, click here.
