Rep. Deutch Hosts Free Screening of "A Place at the Table" this SundayFilm to be Followed by Panel Discussion by Experts on Hunger
This Sunday, April 28th, Congressman Ted Deutch will host a free screening of the documentary film A Place at the Table. The film examines the issue of hunger in America by telling the story of three people struggling with food insecurity. In America fifty million people—including one in four children—don’t know where their next meal will come from, and when they do, it is often unhealthy and lacking in nutrition. Floridians experience food insecurity at a rate 16.2% higher than the national average. Congressman Deutch believes that this film is important for all Americans to see, as it is a moving portrayal of our losing battle with hunger and highlights our need to enact policies that will improve Americans' access to healthy, nutritious food. Admission to the screening is free of charge.
Following the screening, a panel of national and local experts on hunger issues will join Congressman Deutch for discussion with the audience. Panelists include:
