Rep. Deutch Releases Statement on Memorial Day

Congressman Deutch's office strives to help veterans every day, from assisting homeless veterans with housing, to ensuring veterans denied medals receive the recognition they earned.

Washington, May 28, 2012 -

"On Memorial Day, we pay tribute to the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of the security of our nation and the defense of our American values. We may never be able to repay that debt, but as a community and as a nation it is our duty to try.

"Throughout our history, the men and women of our armed forces have done everything asked of them with courage and determination. While we honor them as heroes, let’s also be reminded that they are so much more to the millions of Americans across the country who cherish them as parents, sons and daughters, and friends and neighbors. This Memorial Day, as we stand with our military families in remembrance of the fallen, we must recommit ourselves to working together each and every day to be a nation worthy of their sacrifice.”
